HerMD / Joi, MD-Led Platform

HerMD was a Cincinnati-based women's health organization founded in 2018 that built a clinical reputation as one of the few practices in the country dedicated to the full spectrum of women's sexual health: vulvodynia, dyspareunia, low libido, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder), and pelvic floor dysfunction. Under its founding medical director, the practice became a referral destination for patients who had been dismissed or undertreated in conventional gynecology. HerMD operated brick-and-mortar clinics in Ohio and added telehealth as a complementary channel; by 2024, citing ongoing challenges in healthcare economics, HerMD closed all of its physical locations and announced plans to relaunch as a virtual-only service. In December 2025, Joi + Blokes acquired HerMD in a deal that consolidated two women's hormonal health platforms into one of the largest virtual specialty care networks in the United States. Joi + Blokes was itself founded as a platform offering personalized hormone health pathways for both women (Joi) and men (Blokes), with a focus that extended beyond conventional HRT to include testosterone therapy, peptide protocols, and functional hormone optimization. At the time of acquisition, the combined platform reported more than 50,000 patients treated across all 50 states. The acquisition brings together HerMD's established clinical identity in sexual health and menopause with Joi's national telehealth infrastructure and broader hormonal services menu. For patients, this means access to a 30–60 minute clinician visit covering traditional menopause hormone therapy alongside testosterone for women, peptides, and expanded diagnostics — a scope that goes beyond what most menopause-focused telehealth platforms offer.
